Security

Any payments through our website are secure. No one sees your card details except you (i.e. more secure than using your card in a shop). You will see the padlock symbol in the status bar of your browser when you arrive at the page where you enter your card details (after the address and delivery details page). Your payment will be processed by Worldpay  They are part of HBOS and also provide payment processing facilities for over 20,000 online shops. You can also be re-assured because Worldpay will refund your money if you have any sort of dispute with us that is not settled between us. This encourages us to have an easy going returns policy. Please contact us first if you need a refund, or you have any problem with the service you have received.

We use Royal Mail for all of our orders. The postage is included in all of the prices on our site for UK and The Rest of The World. There are no hidden costs. Delivery should take 1-7 working days.

We use the Royal Mail Airmail service for outside of the UK. Delivery for Western Europe takes 3 days. Eastern Europe 4 days and the rest of the world 5 days.

Working days are Monday to Friday. Saturdays, Sundays, Public holidays and Bank holidays are not included.

If you have any questions please contact us at caroldadams@btinternet.com or call Charlotte Fletcher at our Office on 01424 815 232. Between the hours of 9.00 am and 6.00 pm - Mon to Fri.

Some frequently asked questions:-

Why do I have to give my email address and telephone number?

You are asked for your email address in order to confirm that Adams Picture Library Limited has received your order. You will also receive a confirmation email from WorldPay advising that your account has been debited. You are asked for your telephone number so that we can advise you of any delays etc. We do not pass your email address or telephone number to third parties and neither do we use them for marketing purposes.

Why is my credit/debit card not accepted when I check out?

The most likely cause is failure to complete the form correctly. When entering your personal details i.e. name and address etc, you must complete all the fields (i.e. boxes) marked with a * including telephone number and email address on both card holder and delivery address details. When entering your credit/debit card details, you must complete as follows:

Select your card type i.e. Visa, MasterCard, etc

Card Holder Name (must be the same name as shown on card)

Card Number (numbers only, no spaces)

Expiry Date (mm/yyyy) i.e. 06/2007

Issue No. (Switch) or Start Date (if applicable) If your card has a Start Date then use the format as before i.e. mm/yyyy

Security Code

Some cards, many UK-issued cards for example, have a number printed at the top of the signature strip on the reverse of the card. Enter the last three digit only. Others, American Express cards for example, have a security number printed on the front of the card, above the account number. Enter this four digits number.

When are the goods dispatched?

Normally within 24 hours after receiving confirmation of payment.

Can I telephone you with an inquiry?

Yes, you can call us on 01424 815 232 between 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday, except Bank Holidays. Very occasionally during the working day the office is unmanned so if there is no reply please ring again later, or leave a message and we will contact you.

Security overview

Security is probably one of the most significant concerns for both the shopper and the retailer during an online transaction. In reality, an online transaction is probably more secure than a card transaction in a shop or conducted over the telephone or by fax, as the information transmitted online is strongly encrypted using complicated logarithm combinations. The WorldPay payment system uses a combination of both established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data. Furthermore, their public web servers are certified by Thawte, a public Certificate Authority, ensuring that both the shopper and retailer can have confidence that nobody can impersonate WorldPay to obtain confidential information.

Security for shoppers

Any communication between the shopper and WorldPay is also encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the shopper's browser using 128 Bit SSL. Shoppers are also protected from fraudulent use of their card in a "card not present" environment, by their card issuers. The card issuers provide the right for shopper to dispute a transaction if the goods/services did not arrive or if the card was used fraudulently.

Data Storage

Data storage on WorldPay systems, and the communication between WorldPay and the worldwide banking networks, is regularly audited by the banking authorities to ensure a secure transaction environment. They also ensure that they stay up-to-date with the latest versions of any third-party code they use, and continually review their own proprietary code.
